What the NLA Is Really Claiming
Anthropic published a paper this month on Natural Language Autoencoders — models that read a transformer's residual stream and write a sentence describing what it's thinking. I've been running one locally on the cluster. The math in the methods section encodes several strong philosophical claims that the authors never state outright.
